Looking Forward to 2011

The end of the 2010 was particularly slow but 2011 everyone seems to have hit the ground running in 2011.

We’ve begun work on a tool to demonstrably measure the effectiveness of the work of Connect, one of our longest-standing clients. Early in 2011 we will be releasing an online survey tool to allow facilitators to assess the progress of people with aphasia before and after intervention. This kind of thing will become increasingly important for charities as they “prove” their value to those that control the funding.

We’re looking forward to enhancing the Flowers Galleries website which we released early in 2010 and integrating our content management system with their own internal management database. This should really help to make the website an integral part of their business.

There have been some interesting developments for our client English Language Testing which we hope to help them maximise and of course we’ll continue to work closely with PredictorPro and The Halo Works through 2011.

The technology behind FilmApp has huge potential which we’d like to apply to other areas such as event management, specifically within the London boroughs currently enjoying the benefits FilmApp brings them.

Historically Sumac has always been comfortable working with Microsoft technologies and the Windows Phone 7 platform is receiving remarkably positive coverage. All it needs is some significant uptake and a decent proposition for us to get involved in apps for that platform.

Oddly SharePoint has also come onto our radar again recently and it seems very likely that we will explore possibilities around this as an internal communications tool for some of our clients in 2011.

All in all things are looking very positive, let’s hope the “economic climate” doesn’t trip everyone up again.
