Alex and Ollie have delivered stirling work through 2010 and continue to develop their own personal skills and experience to the benefit of the Sumac team. I’m really excited to see what we can do together in 2011.

Richard Johnson joined us early in the year, an old mate of Alex’s from college days back in Oz. Alex has been telling us for years about Richard’s big tech brain so when he announced his arrival in the UK we signed him up quick. Richard has been doing some great work on a number of projects and we hope to get more out of him in 2011.

Justin Small converted his squatter’s rights in the Sumac office (he’s been running Pleased from here for a couple of years) to the position of Design Director. He’s been instrumantal in the Sumac rebrand and helped us raise the bar in terms of  design expectations both within the company and amongst our clients. Justin will continue to work with us in 2011 alongside his own projects.

Vicky Peel has ramped up her work in the office in 2010 doing invaluable work on the financial side of things. It’s great to have her keeping an eye on the cashflow and making sure those invoices go out (and payments come in!) in a timely fashion. The quantity of coffee and the quality of the cakes has also improved dramatically.

Unfortunately the cakes were not enough to keep Sean Quinlivan with us. After a good 3 years with Sumac, Sean moved on to look after the M&S site for LBI. He’s a one off and we have a tough job on our hands finding the right replacement.

We also seem to have developed a Sumac youth policy in the last year. James Smyth is with us honing the skills he learnt on his Art and Computing degree course and we have Shiyamalan Thevendranadan from Brunel University working with us on an iPhone App project.
