Sumac is looking for a creative, client-focused, all-round web developer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, well respected company with a great working environment. We’d like you to be motivated by the notion of “creative technical” and have an appetite for a varied work load. The role is client-facing and relies upon developing strong working relationships.

Whilst you will have your own specific area of expertise, this role requires skills in both front and back-end programming.

We’d like to see an impeccable body of work, with demonstrable skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/AJAX and XML/XSLT. We work with a number of different creative agencies so you must have an excellent design sensibility.

At the back-end, we primarily use the Microsoft .NET framework, specifically C# with SQL Server databases but we do support legacy VB systems. MVC / OOP are used and you would also be expected to have a working knowledge of the LAMP environment. On the server side, we’d like to see your skill in IIS 6 and 7.

We work with a variety of management systems including our own in-house developed CMS and others such as Umbraco and WordPress. Knowledge of payment gateway integration (SagePay, WorldPay and PayPal) would be great, and iPhone and Mobile Apps development experience would be well-regarded.

We’d also be interested to hear your opinions on progressive enhancement, responsive design and/or other current industry issues.

Ideally, you will have 2-3 years strong commercial experience in web development, preferably in an agency environment.
